Eikon Exhibition Centre, Lisburn REVIEW

You are here Home  > Entertainment >  Eikon Exhibition Centre, Lisburn

Northern Ireland’s newest and largest purpose built venue, Eikon Exhibition Centre at Balmoral Park. This fantastic venue is situated only one mile from Spruefield Retail Park off Junction 7 on the M1 Motorway.

Eikon’s location adjacent to Sprucefield on the edge of Lisburn City is ideal for both trade and public events. Belfast City is only 10 minutes away, Lisburn City under 5.

The Eikon Complex has over 4,000 free parking spaces, with a large number of disabled parking spots. The surface is all tarmac’d, which provides a good surface for anyone in a wheelchair or use any kind of mobility aids.

All entrances into the exhibition centre are manned by staff, so gaining access poses no problems and they are double doors, so can be open wide to allow any size of wheelchair in.

The floor within the centre is level and again, provides a good surface for wheelchairs and poses no restrictions. There are two disabled toilets adjacent to each other within the venue and they are both large and provide sample space for any type of wheelchairs.

There is a cafe on site too, but I found that the tables and chairs were too tightly packed together, which created a few problems for my wheelchair to navigate through, especially when meeting other wheelchairs and guardians with push prams. However, it was manageable with assistance.
