Situated on Castle Street in Omagh Co. Tyrone, The Kitchen has a popular healthy eating cafe for people in the town. They aim to provide top quality nutritional meals that are as delicious as they are healthy.
From the outside, The Kitchen looks to be a small cafe, with not much room inside for a wheelchair or for anyone restrictive movement. In fact, it is a secret haven with lots of open floor space.
I am no problem getting my wheelchair around the floor space with ease. The counter is low, so it posed no real problems when paying at the till and communicating to the staff what I wanted.
The staffs themselves were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful to any of the requests I had for them. They were able to assist me in locating a table and removing a chair to place myself in my wheelchair.
The doorway to the premise can be a little difficult to open. Whilst the door itself is light, the access is narrow, so it can be awkward sometimes to get a reach at the door handle. This is not a major concern if you are with someone and the staff usually spot patrons at the door and will be able to assist, if you are alone.
