The Playhouse comprises of a 175 Seat Theatre, an extensive Education and Outreach Department, a Dance Studio, the Source Arts Resource Centre, a gallery and is home to several cultural/art based groups and tenants. The Playhouse filled (and continues to fill) a large gap in the provision of the arts in the North West. It also is one of only a handful of venues commissioning, producing and touring theatre in the island of Ireland. The Playhouse is fully accessible to speak with disabilities. There is a large ramp at the front of the building, which acts as the access for everyone, not just for person’s with a disability. Once inside the building, there are several floors and levels. These are accessible by either the main elevator or by the small lift that takes you to the upper level. It has been very well designed, with people with disabilities in mind and there are very few places that you cannot go. If there are any difficulties, the staff are always on hand and ensure that everything is to your satisfaction.
