Circus Aurora Workshops

Streetwise Community Circus has been awarded a development grant to create a new social circus project. During October and November taster sessions will be taking place to prove the sustainability and value of these workshops. If successful, Streetwise will be allocated 3 years funding to deliver ‘Circus Aurora’.

The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area has been successful in being selected as one of three centres to hold the workshops.

The aim of the workshops is to teach people with disabilities, autism, older people and ethnic minorities circus skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The skills that Streetwise Community Circus will teach include juggling, stilt walking, hat tricks, diablo and many more. The workshops will be taken by some of Ireland’s leading street entertainers and have been designed to be fun and accessible for people of all abilities. Streetwise Community Circus are well known for their work with people with disabilities and their ability to include everyone in their workshops.

The workshops will be held in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh and are free to attend. Each participant will be able to attend two taster sessions in October or November. Each session will last 2 hours with a break included.
